Location Glimpse

  • Location Glimpse is a first Chatter based, REAL location sharing app. It is real because we are using Mobile phones with GPS to update location in salesforce, rather than ip2location and reverse geocoding. These GPS based location updates are pushed to force.com via Email. We use inbound email handler to parse the location details. * Integrated with a 3rd Party Location Sharing App called "Glympse.com" to get GPS location updates available for Iphone, Android, and Windows Mobile. * Salesforce users send location updates to their salesforce org via Glympse.com Mobile App. * Chatter used through out this app to discuss,collaborate and plan meetings on location updates.

 Thanks @Chirag, glad you liked it. I was alos looking on FourSquare APIs, but yes for sure a cool thing to bring on force.com platform. Even now we have facebook places, gowalla etc, so it could be a good mashup.

 Thanks  for suggestion and appreciation. I am trying to demo travel mode in "location glimpse" too. So I have created a new video and used annotations in that.

 Cool App with GPS integration, but video is long. You could have used Youtube.com annotations to shorten the length.

@Trisha @Anthony its exciting to know that, you want to start updating your location in Salesforce chatter using Droid & Iphones.

I am preparing this app for Salesforce App Exchange.  Good news,  this APP will be available for "FREE" @AppExchange. I am respecting Chatter Challenge rules  "Our only condition is that your app cannot be commercially marketed."
