The DevZone at Dreamforce ’11 was a great place to learn about the development aspects of Force.com, Database.com, and Heroku and get up to speed on how to build clouds apps that are more social, mobile, and open. We had 80+ technical sessions, code reviews with 1:1 consultations, a hands-on developer lab as well as an Open Source lab, technology demos, a great Dreamforce Hackathon and much more.

Below, you will find all the technical sessions recordings and a summary of the various programs the developer community participated in.

Dreamforce Technical Sessions:
    • Learn, Relax, and Play

    • Developer Lab

The lab was a busy space as new and experienced developers alike rolled up their sleeves to get their hands dirty! Force.com, Heroku and Database.com experts were on hand to answer questions and walk developers through scenarios out of the many developer workbooks and new features as well.

    • Code Consultations

The private one-on-one code consultations were completely booked out. Those who were able to take advantage of the deep technical expertise received customized help with their code and architectural aspects of their applications.

    • New Tech Demo Stations

The tech demo stations highlighted the latest products and technologies by the experts who are building them, and also served as a forum for participants to ask questions about architecture, agile development, and upcoming technologies.

    • Lightning Forum

This casual walk-up space hosted advanced technical presentations on a wide variety of issues facing developers, taking deep dives on latest-and-greatest innovations and experiential knowledge from practitioners of many different backgrounds.

    • Cloud Arcade

Friend and foe alike took to the Cloud Arcade to compete against each other choosing from all that OnLive's gaming platform has to offer. It was frag or be fragged in the friendly competitive environment.

    • Partner Demos

A huge crowd circulated daily throughout the partner demo area, getting to know the companies and their innovative products, while networking and learning.

    • Dreamforce Hackathon

The Dreamforce Hackathon, sponsored by Twilio, was the developer don’t-miss event of the week. It provided a change for developers to flex their fingers and show off their skills at building cloud apps. We gave out big cash prices.

    • Open Source Lab

This year, we introduced the Open Source lab in the DevZone, sponsored by GitHub. Developers were able to learn more about open source communities, app, and tools and get their hands-on experience with GitHub, the leading social developer tool and code repository.

    • Cloud University Scholarship

We hosted a select group of university students enrolled in the computer sciences and engineering to attend. For this pilot program, twenty students from across the country and abroad traveled to San Francisco, where they were guided through a jam-packed week of developer-related activities.
