You have made your apps better with the collaborative features of Chatter. Now, you can distribute those improvements easily to your customers. Chatter Packages allows you to package the default fields you want to track in the Chatter feed.

You can now create managed packages that include Chatter functionality, which can be installed in environments that don’t have Chatter enabled. A new exception type, REQUIRED_FEATURE_MISSING, will be thrown (and caught) when the Chatter code is executed in such an environment.
